WE’RE HERE TO HELP
Support for Newcomer Families
If your child was born outside of Canada and is new to the District School Board of Niagara, our Welcome Centre is here to help. From registration to settlement support, language assistance, and connecting with community resources — we’ll make sure your family feels supported from day one.
The Welcome Centre provides information and support for parents/guardians and students who are:
• Not born in Canada and are new or returning to the DSBN
• Non-resident Canadian citizens who are resident taxpayers of another province
• Foreign citizens (e.g. VISA (fee-paying) students, Permanent Residents, Refugees, dependent of parental work/study permit
Whether you are registering for school, learning about the education system, or looking for support and resources, our team is here to help make the transition to school feel welcoming and smooth for your family.
