Secondary ROUTES Program

An opportunity for Low German-speaking students to work full-time while still earning high school credits through in-person classes, independent learning and teacher support.

How the program works

Enroll with DSBN

Students are officially registered in the DSBN and linked to Eden High School, with all courses offered through the ROUTES program.

One night a week

Students meet at the school one night a week to learn and work together with a Secondary School teacher.

Students earn secondary school credits

Students in the ROUTES program can earn high school credits and a diploma without the need to attend a high school.

What are the benefits?

Continue working full-time
Students may continue to work full-time while earning a high school diploma.

Flexible and tailored
Flexible hours with courses designed to meet the individual needs of students.

Technology may be provided
Laptops may be provided – students can continue to work on their courses from any location.

Communication options
Students can communicate with teachers by phone, email and in person.

Culturally respectful
Programming is developed with community input and is respectful of religious and cultural beliefs.

Employment opportunities
Graduate with a high school diploma and get help with employment opportunities.

ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION

Who can join and when?

Who can apply?

Youth who are high school age and young adults.

What if I don’t currently attend a DSBN Elementary School?

That’s not a problem! You may apply from another school, home schooling, the workplace, etc. 

What if the children go to another school that is either within or outside of the DSBN?

That’s not a problem! You may apply from any other school or from home schooling. 

Where is the ROUTES program offered?

Mondays 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
DSBN Lifetime Learning Centre

Thursdays 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
